Eden Hazard has told RTL
"it would be a dream" to play under Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane
and he would happily be reunited with Manchester United boss Jose
Mourinho, although he stressed he is happy at Chelsea.
Zidane has praised Hazard
numerous times over the course of the Belgium international's career,
while the Chelsea man idolised the former France star as a youngster.
Since
being appointed Madrid boss in January 2016, Zidane has led Madrid to
back-to-back Champions League titles as well as finishing top of La Liga
last season, and Hazard said he would love to one day work with him.
"Everyone
knows the respect I have for the man," the 26-year-old said. "For the
player he was and for the coach he is, he was my idol. Of course I don't
know what will happen in my career in the future, but to play under him
would be a dream.
"At this time, though, I'm happy at Chelsea. I still have a lot of things to do at Chelsea, and I'm focused on Chelsea."
Hazard, whose contract at Stamford Bridge runs until 2020,
won the 2014-15 Premier League title under Mourinho during the
Portuguese's second spell in charge of the Blues.
There have been suggestions that the pair fell out before Mourinho was dismissed, but he said: "It wouldn't bother me to play under Jose Mourinho again."
Hazard claimed the second Premier League winner's medal of his career under current Chelsea manager Antonio Conte last season.
He
also won the 2012-13 Europa League with Chelsea and captained his
country at Euro 2016, an honour he is set to repeat at next summer's
World Cup.
However, he said the greatest moment of his
career so far happened six years ago, when he and a Lille side also
featuring Yohan Cabaye, Mathieu Debuchy, Adil Rami and Gervinho won a
domestic Double under Rudi Garcia.
Hazard, who spent seven years with the Ligue 1 side, said:
"The Double achieved with Lille in 2011 was a very big moment because
no one expected us to do that. It really wasn't programmed."
Ex-New York congressman Anthony Weiner burst into tears as he was sentenced to 21 months in jail for sending sexually explicit messages to an underage girl. He pleaded guilty in May to transferring obscene material to a minor and agreed not to appeal against a prison sentence of 27 months or less. Weiner, 53, quit Congress in 2011 over a sex scandal and was again exposed in his 2013 run for New York mayor. His lawyers had asked a US District Judge for probation instead of jail. But in sentencing Weiner, US District Judge Denise Cote said: "This is a serious crime that deserves serious punishment." She also said Weiner "has a disease. He has a compulsivity. Some say a sex addiction." Acting Manhattan US Attorney Joon H Kim said in a statement that Weiner "asked a girl who he knew to be 15 years old to display her naked body and engage in sexually explicit behaviour for him online". "Justice demands that this type of conduct be pros...
Two hundred children could die each day from hunger in northeastern Nigeria as a result of the ongoing conflict in the country, a humanitarian agency has warned. Up to half of all children under the age of five are acutely malnourished, international charity Save the Children said on Monday, after screening the health of boys and girls in the region between June and October in 2016. The figure could be even worse in areas that are out of reach because of insecurity, according to the report. Children are presenting in desperate conditions and facing severe malnutrition, often in combination with other life-threatening illnesses like pneumonia, malaria and diarrhoea," said Ben Foot, Save the Children country director. "For some cases this may be the second or third time they have fought malnutrition so their immune systems are already severely weakened." Violent attacks on civilians since 2009 by the armed group Boko H...
