Eden Hazard has told RTL
"it would be a dream" to play under Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane
and he would happily be reunited with Manchester United boss Jose
Mourinho, although he stressed he is happy at Chelsea.
Zidane has praised Hazard
numerous times over the course of the Belgium international's career,
while the Chelsea man idolised the former France star as a youngster.
Since
being appointed Madrid boss in January 2016, Zidane has led Madrid to
back-to-back Champions League titles as well as finishing top of La Liga
last season, and Hazard said he would love to one day work with him.
"Everyone
knows the respect I have for the man," the 26-year-old said. "For the
player he was and for the coach he is, he was my idol. Of course I don't
know what will happen in my career in the future, but to play under him
would be a dream.
"At this time, though, I'm happy at Chelsea. I still have a lot of things to do at Chelsea, and I'm focused on Chelsea."
Hazard, whose contract at Stamford Bridge runs until 2020,
won the 2014-15 Premier League title under Mourinho during the
Portuguese's second spell in charge of the Blues.
There have been suggestions that the pair fell out before Mourinho was dismissed, but he said: "It wouldn't bother me to play under Jose Mourinho again."
Hazard claimed the second Premier League winner's medal of his career under current Chelsea manager Antonio Conte last season.
He
also won the 2012-13 Europa League with Chelsea and captained his
country at Euro 2016, an honour he is set to repeat at next summer's
World Cup.
However, he said the greatest moment of his
career so far happened six years ago, when he and a Lille side also
featuring Yohan Cabaye, Mathieu Debuchy, Adil Rami and Gervinho won a
domestic Double under Rudi Garcia.
Hazard, who spent seven years with the Ligue 1 side, said:
"The Double achieved with Lille in 2011 was a very big moment because
no one expected us to do that. It really wasn't programmed."
Cristiano Ronaldo's sister, Katia Aveiro, has come out in defence of the Juventus forward after his red card in the 2-0 win against Valencia on Wednesday. Ronaldo was dismissed on his Champions League debut for Juve after a clash with Jeison Murillo was spotted by the assistant referee and communicated to German referee Felix Brych, who drew a red card from his top pocket. The Portuguese forward was reluctant to leave the field at the Mestalla and appeared to be on the verge of tears as he finally walked to the tunnel in disbelief. She wrote on Instagram: "A football disgrace...justice will be done...they want to destroy my brother, but God never sleeps...disgraceful." Aveiro posted further images of the incident on her Instagram story with similar captions. It was Ronaldo's first red card in 154 Champions League games, and the decision means he could miss a return to Old Trafford when Juventus play Manchester United next month if he gets at l...
MOSCOW -- Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel faced Argentina last Tuesday in the knowledge that his father was being held for ransom, but did not tell anyone about it as the kidnappers threatened to shoot "instantly" if authorities were informed. Mikel told KweséESPN that he received a call from the kidnappers four hours before kickoff in the decisive World Cup clash in St Petersburg, and they demanded N10 Million ($28,000 US) for the safe return of his father, Pa Michael Obi. The elder Obi was on his way to a funeral in south eastern Nigeria from Jos when he was abducted along the Makurdi-Enugu expressway on June 26. He and his driver were rescued by police, after a "gun duel," on July 2, nearly a week after the kidnapping. Mikel's father was then taken to hospital for treatment, with family sources telling KweséESPN that the elderly man had been tortured and required multiple stitches. He returned to hospital on Tuesday after some of the sutures b...
