College evacuated after 'anonymous bomb threat sent by email' as cops send students home

A college has been evacuated after an anonymous email threat was sent to staff.
Police were called to Middlesborough College at 2:20pm in the north east following reports of the anonymous threat.
The college was evacuated before police officers arrived and students have been told to go home.
She added that the incident related to a report of an alleged threat being made.
A college spokesperson said an “anonymous email” had been sent to the college and as a result, police advised that the building should be evacuated.
The spokesperson added: “Students have now been advised that if anyone wants to go home, they can.”
Reports on social media from those standing outside the building suggested the evacuation was due to a bomb threat, although this has not yet been confirmed by police.
Staff and students were allowed back in the building at 3:30pm.
