Gambian leader Jammeh suspends campaign to 'mourn' Castro

Cape Town – Gambian President Yahya Jammeh has suspended his campaign in respect of the late Cuban leader Fidel Castro, BBC reports.
Castro, who ruled Cuba as a one-party state for nearly 50 years, died on Friday at the age of 90.
The Gambian leader had close links to Castro, as Cuba was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Gambia after Jammeh took power in a coup.
Cuban doctors have also been working in the west African country.

Morocco murders: Three arrested over 'bestial' tourist killings

The "bestial" murder of two young women in Morocco is being investigated as a terrorism attack, Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said. Three men were arrested on Thursday over the murder of Louisa Vesterager Jespersen, 24, from Denmark, and Maren Ueland, 28, from Norway. The pair were found dead from knife wounds near a popular tourist spot on Monday. At least one of the suspects has been linked to an Islamist extremist group. One person had already been arrested on Monday, hours after the bodies of the two women were discovered with injuries to their necks. Police also supplied photos of the three other suspects, prompting a 72-hour manhunt. Moroccan news outlet 2M said they were shepherds, and had been arrested in the city of Marrakesh on Thursday morning. 'Bird Box blindfold' challenge gone wrong

Police in the US state of Utah have taken the unusual step of urging residents not to drive blindfolded after an online challenge inspired by a horror film led to a crash. A teenager with her hat over her eyes drove into oncoming traffic in the city of Layton while taking part in the so-called "Bird Box Challenge". The craze has come from the Netflix film Bird Box, starring Sandra Bullock. Last week Netflix warned fans not to attempt the challenge. This week the same advice came from Layton police department. "It's just inexcusable to do something as dangerous as this, not only to yourself but everyone else on the road," said police Lt Travis Lyman, quoted by KSL.com.
