Black Widow' and 'West Side Story' Delayed Until 2021 Due to Pandemic

Image
Following its previous reshuffling of films due to the ongoing pandemic, Disney has announced it will once again push Black Widow‘s release date back, this time to next year, alongside its adaptation of West Side Story. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scarlett Johansson‘s upcoming standalone superhero film has been pushed from November 6 to May 7, 2021, a full year removed from its original release date of May 1, 2020, before coronavirus concerns shut down most theaters. As a result, other Marvel Studios films like Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and The Eternals have been pushed back to July 9 and November 5, 2021, respectively. Meanwhile, Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story has been pushed back from December 18, 2020, to December 10 of next year. Although this takes the film out of this year’s Oscar race, many suspect the film has also been delayed due to alligations surrounding the film’s star Ansel Elgort. Disney will move Kenneth Branagh’s Death on the Nile sequel fr...

TikTok and WeChat to be Removed From U.S. App Stores This Weekend

Image
TikTok is to be removed from all U.S. app stores this weekend following an executive order signed by President Trump. The President has also signed an executive order targeting WeChat, which will not be available from any app stores. According to sources cited in Financial Times, people who currently use the apps will be not be forced to remove them, although future software updates will be unavailable. The source also believes that WeChat would quickly become unusable, while the experience of using TikTok would downgrade over the next two months unless a deal was approved by Trump. The decision to ban both services from the app stores comes during negotiations between Oracle and ByteDance, which owns TikTok. The proposal submitted by Oracle and ByteDance would see TikTok’s global business spun out into a separate U.S. company with an American board and a security committee led by someone with government security clearance. As it stands, the new company would still be owned by ByteDanc...

Oracle Triumphs Over Microsoft To Secure TikTok Sale

Image
According to new reports, Oracle has now triumphed over Microsoft, coming out as the victor for the bid for TikTok‘s sale in the U.S. This news comes months after Donald Trump issued an executive order mandating a forced sale, failure of which would lead to the social media platform being banned in the country. Anonymous sources close to the deal revealed that TikTok had put forward a proposal to U.S. officials that allows ByteDance — its Chinese parent company — to outsource just its cloud management of the data it collects, but retaining ownership over the company, making Oracle an American “technology partner.” ByteDance may also consider moving its headquarters out of China in order to escape the country’s jurisdiction, which requires companies to share data with the Chinese government if ordered to do so. While the new deal may address certain national security concerns for the U.S., a former government official expressed concerns regarding its political aspect: “it’s well short o...

WOMAN CUTS OFF HAND FOR BIG PAYDAY ... Sentenced To Prison

Image
A woman went to unbelievable lengths to get a big payday -- she cut off her hand -- and now she'll have 2 years to reflect in prison. Julija Adlesic, a citizen of Slovenia, hatched a plan with her boyfriend, to collect on some big, fat insurance policies they took out on her. In all, they got 5 policies totaling more than $1 million. To get the loot, they cut off her hand with a circular saw and then filed a claim -- presumably some sort of disability claim. The insurance policies would have paid her half upfront and the balance in monthly installments. Thing is ... she got busted, and the 22-year-old woman was sentenced to 2 years in prison. The boyfriend got 3 years. Bold, but stupid. SRC:TMZ

Revealed in a series of internal documents, the American video game, consumer electronics and gaming merchandise retailer is looking to help offer an alternative way to own the systems. GameStop is currently looking into installment plans, direct layaway and rent-to-own plans. Installment plans would be offered through third-party companies like Quadpay and Klarna, requiring customers to split their purchase into four payments over six weeks with no interest. Layaway would see customers pay small installments over a certain period of time to clear the full payment before they receive their consoles. While the rent-to-own plans would let customers rent the new consoles for an upfront fee, with the rest of the cost paid over a 12 month period. Customers can then fully pay off the cost to own a console or retu...

Despite the news, fans of the franchise can rest assured that there’s much more content on its way, and season 11 won’t be the end of the zombie universe per se. As early as 2018, the show already announced that it’ll be making a theatrical trilogy following the arc of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), and a teaser trailer was released for the movies during last year’s San Diego Comic-Con. New reports are suggesting that AMC will also be producing a spin-off series for two of the show’s most beloved characters: Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Meli...
