'The Walking Dead' Is Ending After 11 Seasons

 


After almost 10 years on air, AMC‘s hit zombie apocalypse series The Walking Dead is finally coming to an end after its 11th season. According to reports, the final season will consist of 24 episodes and arrive late 2021. Between now and then, fans of the series will get seven more episodes of the currently-running season 10, with its finale scheduled for October 24, after which six bonus episodes will release in early 2021.

Despite the news, fans of the franchise can rest assured that there’s much more content on its way, and season 11 won’t be the end of the zombie universe per se. As early as 2018, the show already announced that it’ll be making a theatrical trilogy following the arc of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), and a teaser trailer was released for the movies during last year’s San Diego Comic-Con. New reports are suggesting that AMC will also be producing a spin-off series for two of the show’s most beloved characters: Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBridge). This project is said to debut some time in 2023. Finally, there’s another spin-off series named Tales of the Walking Dead, which fleshes out some of the originals series’ backstories, bringing back some of the characters that were killed off in the main plot.

Woman trapped in billionaire's New York lift all weekend

A woman has been rescued after spending an entire weekend trapped in her billionaire employer's lift, authorities said. The woman, reported to be 53-year-old Marites Fortaliza, entered the elevator at the Manhattan townhouse owned by investment banker Warren Stephens on Friday evening. Firefighters responded to an emergency call at 10:00 local time (15:00 GMT) on Monday and forced the lift open. Ms Fortaliza is recovering in hospital. According to a family statement reported by the Associated Press Ms Fortaliza was dehydrated but in a stable condition at Weill Cornell Medical Center. She has been "a valued member of the Stephens extended family for 18 years" and a family member accompanied her to the hospital, they are quoted as saying. Governor jailed for sexual assault

A former South Korean governor and one-time presidential contender has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison for rape, five months after he was controversially acquitted for the same crime. Ahn Hee-jung was jailed by an appeals court Friday for the rape and assault of Kim Ji-eun, his former assistant, Kim's lawyer Jung Hye-sun told CNN. Speaking after the verdict, Kim thanked her lawyers and witnesses who supported her case. "I can say goodbye to my torturous time when I was forced to live feeling like a witch to be burnt," she said. "I'd like to share all the help I received with other victims who still have to prove everything in their lonely fights.
