Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group insist the club is not for sale after a report in the Daily Mail claimed the cousin of Manchester City owner Sheik Mansour recently failed in an attempt to purchase the team. The report states that Sheik Khaled Bin Zayed Al Nehayan was exploring a takeover in the past year that valued Liverpool at £2 billion ($2.6 billion). A source confirmed to ESPN FC that Sheik Khaled, who is an Emirati member of the ruling family of Abu Dhabi, was interested in taking over the Premier League club, but ultimately it was not believed to be a credible bid. Bad news for those who enjoy what they think is a healthy glass of wine a day. A large new global study published in the Lancet has confirmed previous research which has shown that there is no safe level of alcohol consumption. The researchers admit moderate drinking may protect against heart disease but found that the risk of cancer and other diseases outweighs these protections. A study author said its findings were the most significant to date because of the range of factors considered. How risky is moderate drinking? The Global Burden of Disease study looked at levels of alcohol use and its health effects in 195 countries, including the UK, between 1990 and 2016. Analysing data from 15 to 95-year-olds, the researchers compared people who did not drink at all with those who had one alcoholic drink a day. US President Donald Trump has responded to speculation that he might be impeached by warning that any such move would damage the economy. "If I ever got impeached, I think the market would crash," he said in an interview with Fox & Friends. He was speaking after Michael Cohen, his ex-lawyer, pleaded guilty to violating election laws, and said he had been directed to do so by Mr Trump. Mr Trump has rarely spoken about the prospect of being impeached. Correspondents say it is unlikely Mr Trump's opponents would try to impeach him before November's mid-term elections. Cohen says he handled hush money payments to two women during the 2016 presidential campaign. A banner calling for the exit of Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will be flown over Turf Moor next month, according to multiple reports. Man United fans have reportedly hired a plane to fly the banner reading "Ed Out - LUHG" (Love United, Hate Glazer) on Sept. 2 before their match against Burnley in protest of Woodward's leadership and of the club's owners the Glazer family. Supporters had planned to have the banner flown over Old Trafford for Monday's match against Tottenham, according to the reports, but that idea was scrapped because of light restrictions for the 8 p.m. kickoff time in Manchester. An anaesthetist killed his wife and 16-year-old daughter using a yoga ball filled with carbon monoxide, a Hong Kong court has heard. Prosecutors said Khaw Kim-sun left the inflatable ball in the boot of a car where the gas leaked out and killed them. The pair were found dead inside a locked car in 2015, in a case that initially baffled police. Mr Khaw has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder. A post-mortem examination showed his wife and eldest daughter had died from carbon monoxide poisoning. Police found a deflated yoga ball in the back of the yellow Mini Cooper in which their bodies were discovered. Prosecutors told Hong Kong's High Court that Mr Khaw had deliberately plotted to kill his wife because he was having an affair and she would not grant him a divorce, the South China Morning Post said. Forbes has released its list of highest paid actors for 2018, and this year, George Clooney sits on top, making $239 million between June 1, 2017 and June 1, 2018. According to Forbes, Clooney’s claimed the number one spot, thanks to the up to $1 billion purchase of his Casamigos Tequila. Clooney made an estimated $233 million pretax from that deal. Former England captain David Beckham is set to be presented with the 2018 UEFA Presidents Award in recognition of his remarkable career and humanitarian efforts. Facebook and Twitter say they have suspended or removed accounts linked to Iran and Russia over "inauthentic" or "manipulating" behaviour. More than 650 Facebook pages and groups were said to have been identified as "misleading", according to founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg. Meanwhile Twitter said it suspended 284 accounts with apparent links to Iran. It comes a day after Microsoft said it had thwarted Russian cyber-attacks against US conservative groups. On Tuesday, Facebook said it had discovered multiple accounts that displayed "inauthentic behaviour" linked to campaigns that originated in Iran and Russia following investigations that spanned "many months". Uber is close to reaching a final settlement relating to several sexual harassment and discrimination claims. The firm will pay $1.9m (£1.5m) to 56 current and former workers who claim they were victims of sexual harassment. In addition, each of them will receive an average of nearly $11,000 as part of a class action case of 485 people claiming discrimination. The payouts will be part of the taxi-hailing company's total settlement of $10m, which was agreed in March. The US-based class action case is being led by two Latina engineers who allege they were paid less than their white, Asian and male colleagues. The pair filed their legal claim against Uber in October 2017, claiming they suffered harassment and a hostile work environment due to their gender and ethnicity. However, before the payouts can be made the settlement needs to get court approval and members of the class action have a right to object. The Colombian government has started to use drones to destroy the plants that produce cocaine. Small aircraft loaded with herbicide are being sent to search for illegal fields of coca. President Iván Duque has favoured the use of the unmanned aircraft to ensure that damage to neighbouring crops is kept to a minimum. Critics have warned that the approach may be a technological fix to a problem that needs a political solution. The Wall Street Journal reported that Colombian authorities had partnered with drone company Fumi Drones SAS to provide unmanned aircraft as well as to train police. German Huertas, the drone company's director of operations, said the drones had eliminated about 90% of the coca on each acre (0.4 hectare) targeted during tests in the country's Narino province.
