Megan Thee Stallion Claims Tory Lanez Shot Her

Megan Thee Stallion has claimed that rapper Tory Lanez shot her multiple times, taking to Instagram Live to detail the original altercation that resulted in her multiple gunshot wounds and Lanez subsequent arrest for carrying a concealed weapon the morning of Sunday, July 12.

Earlier this week the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office announced it was looking into an additional charge of felony assault with a firearm against Lanez. That same day, Megan posted a now-deleted Instagram photo to update her fans on her recovery process while also criticizing social media users’ harassment surrounding the situation. In her most recent Instagram Live appearance, she opened up about the traumatic events. The video has since been screen recorded by multiple users on Twitter and Instagram. Her initial statement is below.

“I tried to just be cool, stay out the way ’cause at the end of the day I’m really a real b*tch. Like I’m from Houston, I’m from the motherf*ckin’ south side, it ain’t like a, ‘Oh let me go run and tell my business to the motherf*ckin’ internet, let me go run and tell my business to the police,’ you know what I’m saying?” I ain’t never been that type of person, but I’m not gonna let y’all keep playing in my face and I’m not gonna let this n***a be playing in my face either.”

“Yes this n***a Tory shot me. You shot me. And you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and sh*t. Stop lying. Why lie? I don’t understand. I tried to keep the situation off the internet, but you dragging it. You really f*ckin dragging it. Motherf*ckers talking about [I] hit this n***a. I never hit you. Motherf*ckers was like, ‘Oh she mad because he was tryna f*ck with Kylie.’ No I wasn’t. Like, you shot me. Everybody in the car — there’s only four motherf*ckers in the car: me, you, my home girl and your security. Everybody in the car arguing. I’m in the front seat, this n***a in the backseat. I get out the car, I’m done arguing… I’m walking away. This n***a, from out the backseat of the car, starts shooting me! You shot me!

Megan further detailed that after neighbors witnessed the events, they called the police. She alluded to her fear of law enforcement heightened by the Black Lives Matter protests against police brutality as the main reason she initially stated that she was cut by glass. She felt that revealing the truth put everyone else’s life in danger. “Soon as the police tell us to all get out the motherf*ckin’ car, the police is really aggressive. You think I’m ’bout to tell the police that we, n***as, us black people, got a gun in the car?”

Since the altercation, Megan returned from recovery for Cardi B’s “WAP” single which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, but the media continued to pressure her about the events that occurred on July 12.
