REASONS WHY THE REDS SHUOLD PREVAIL IN THE DERBY

Whenever a derby is played, the factor of having the home crowd is very crucial. With the Old Trafford crowd, I feel the United players will have an added motivation to go out there and secure the victory. City have always turn up to play at Old Trafford so I am not just going to discredit them but the odds are in our favour.
United has more to lose and more to gain
Well since the tie is held at Old Trafford, and it is Pep’s maiden Premier League derby, losing this will be humiliating for the Red Devils. A Man Cityloss will only affect Pep’s “feel good” aura temporarily. A United loss will just emphasize Jose’s inferiority to Pep in terms of head to head matches. A loss for either side will also mean that their perfect start is stalled while the other gains ground.
All in all, United will be a laughing stock if we lose and I am sure the players will want to avoid that. The added incentive of winning will also be appealing, dealing a blow to City, maintaining 4 wins on the bounce, and crushing Pep’s flying start will be a good source of motivation.
  • Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Okay I am being a little biased here, but I would not want to face a Zlatan out to make a point and rub it in someone’s face. Scoring against Pep will be the sole thing on Zlatan’s mind and in this high scoring derby, the one who one scores more wins.
  • City’s absentees
Aguero’s ban is a welcome sight for us all. I am not afraid to admit I am a coward by not wanting to face Aguero. He is the best striker in the league and our tormentor so his absence will be huge. Pep’s omission of Yaya Toure is great as well. Without having to deal with a world class box to box player, Pogba should have the free reign to impose his presence against the smaller City midfielders. Kompany’s absence is also good for our forwards as we can avoid a colossus in him. Gundogan & Sane’s absences is also good as their bench depth is limited as well. Many important players that are out for City whereas United are only missing Mkhitaryan and Fellaini both of who are not confirmed to be definitely out yet.
