Neymar celebrated his penalty with Edinson Cavani

Image
Neymar scored twice - including a penalty - as Paris St-Germain thrashed Bordeaux in Ligue 1. The penalty he scored was the first PSG have been awarded since Neymar and Edinson Cavani argued over who would take one against Lyon - with Cavani taking it and missing. Neymar had already scored a brilliant free-kick against Bordeaux, with Cavani and Thomas Meunier adding goals to make it 3-0 before Younousse Sankhare pulled one back.PSG then won their penalty, with the Brazilian stepping up to score and immediately celebrating with Cavani. Julian Draxler and Kylian Mbappe scored two more for PSG, before Jonathan Cafu's late consolation penalty. The win took PSG three points clear of champions Monaco, who drew 1-1 with Montpellier on Friday.

Aguero injured in car crash

Image
Manchester City striker, Sergio Aguero, has been involved in a car accident, according to multiple reports. The incident took place in Amsterdam, Holland, with Aguero inside a taxi heading to the airport, after attending a concert. According to reports, the Argentine who was wearing his seat belt, suffered broken ribs as a result of the crash, in which the taxi carrying the City star apparently hit a pole. Dutch police have confirmed to Sky Sports News, that two people had been taken to hospital, but did not disclose the identity of the individuals. Aguero’s former club Independiente seemingly confirmed the news with a tweet wishing the forward well, saying: “Strength and quick recovery. All Independiente is with you in this difficult time”. The reports claim that Aguero will be out of action for an extended period of time, although there has as yet been no official confirmation from either Manchester City or the Argentina national team. The player will most likely miss

Lukaku can not stop scoring and Martial stars as Man United thrash CSKA Moscow

Image
Champions League nights rarely come easier than this. Manchester United demolished CSKA Moscow -- aided by some atrocious defending from the home side -- and the only surprise was that Jose Mourinho's side did not score more. They were three goals to the good before half an hour had been played and only a series of fine saves from Igor Akinfeev averted total embarrassment for the Russian team. United could not have wished for a better start. Only three minutes and 44 seconds had passed when Anthony Martial, checking inside from the left wing onto his right foot, swung a cross to the back post for Lukaku to attack. Making light of the meager challenge offered by 38-year-old centre-back Sergei Ignashevich, the United striker rose to head home. Backed noisily at the English-style CSKA Arena, the hosts almost responded within two minutes and it took an exceptional one-handed save, low to his right, from David De Gea to deny Alan Dzagoev. United should then have

Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie to wed

Image
Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie have got engaged, it has been confirmed. After a huge amount of speculation, an official announcement has been published in the Times newspaper. The couple met on the fantasy show in 2012, where they played on-screen lovers Jon Snow and Ygritte. Leslie left the cast two years later while Harington has become one of the show's biggest stars - appearing in all seven series of the popular TV drama. They only made their public debut as a couple at last year's Olivier Awards. Harington told L'Uomo Vogue last year it was "easy" to fall in love with Leslie. He said his best ever memory of the show were the three weeks in Iceland when they filmed the second season in 2012. "Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love," he said. "If you're already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in t

Anthony Weiner jailed for 21 months for sexting underage girl

Image
Ex-New York congressman Anthony Weiner burst into tears as he was sentenced to 21 months in jail for sending sexually explicit messages to an underage girl. He pleaded guilty in May to transferring obscene material to a minor and agreed not to appeal against a prison sentence of 27 months or less. Weiner, 53, quit Congress in 2011 over a sex scandal and was again exposed in his 2013 run for New York mayor. His lawyers had asked a US District Judge for probation instead of jail. But in sentencing Weiner, US District Judge Denise Cote said: "This is a serious crime that deserves serious punishment." She also said Weiner "has a disease. He has a compulsivity. Some say a sex addiction." Acting Manhattan US Attorney Joon H Kim said in a statement that Weiner "asked a girl who he knew to be 15 years old to display her naked body and engage in sexually explicit behaviour for him online". "Justice demands that this type of conduct be pros

Soul singer Charles Bradley dies aged 68

Image
Charles Bradley, a soul singer who found fame in his later years, has died from cancer aged 68. The former James Brown impersonator, nicknamed "the screaming eagle of soul" released his first album No Time For Dreaming in 2011, aged 62. He had recently returned to live performance after receiving treatment for stomach cancer late last year. His death came just two weeks after the remainder of his 2017 tour dates were cancelled due to illness. Charles Bradley spent much of his life working odd jobs as a handyman - and some of it living on the streets, sleeping in subway cars in New York City. But he continued to pursue music, having been inspired by the singer James Brown during a performance he saw as a teenager. He was eventually signed to a New York label in the early 2000s, securing a spot as the opening act on tour for soul revival singer Sharon Jones - who died last year aged 60. He recorded a string of singles before the release of No Time for Dreaming

North Korea: Trump and Kim call each other mad

Image
Kim Jong-un has said remarks by "deranged" US President Donald Trump have convinced him he is right to develop weapons for North Korea. In an unprecedented personal statement, Mr Kim said Mr Trump would "pay dearly" for a UN speech where he threatened to "totally destroy" the North if the US was forced to defend itself. Mr Trump responded that the "madman... will be tested like never before". The two countries have engaged in ever more heated rhetoric in recent months. Mr Kim ended his statement by saying he would "surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged US dotard with fire". China responded to the war of words, warning that the situation was "complicated and sensitive". "All relevant parties should exercise restraint instead of provoking each other," said Foreign Minister spokesman Lu Kang. Russia also urged restraint, with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov describing the rhetoric between the

New antibody attacks 99% of HIV strains

Image
Scientists have engineered an antibody that attacks 99% of HIV strains and can prevent infection in primates. It is built to attack three critical parts of the virus - making it harder for HIV to resist its effects. The work is a collaboration between the US National Institutes of Health and the pharmaceutical company Sanofi. The International Aids Society said it was an "exciting breakthrough". Human trials will start in 2018 to see if it can prevent or treat infection. Our bodies struggle to fight HIV because of the virus' incredible ability to mutate and change its appearance. These varieties of HIV - or strains - in a single patient are comparable to those of influenza during a worldwide flu season. So the immune system finds itself in a fight against an insurmountable number of strains of HIV. Super-antibodies But after years of infection, a small number of patients develop powerful weapons called "broadly neutralising antibodies" that att

Alarm as 'super malaria' spreads in South East Asia

Image
The rapid spread of "super malaria" in South East Asia is an alarming global threat, scientists are warning. This dangerous form of the malaria parasite cannot be killed with the main anti-malaria drugs. It emerged in Cambodia but has since spread through parts of Thailand, Laos and has arrived in southern Vietnam. The team at the Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit in Bangkok said there was a real danger of malaria becoming untreatable. Prof Arjen Dondorp, the head of the unit, told the BBC News website: "We think it is a serious threat. "It is alarming that this strain is spreading so quickly through the whole region and we fear it can spread further [and eventually] jump to Africa." Failing treatments In a letter, published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases, the researchers detail the "recent sinister development" that has seen resistance to the drug artemisinin emerge. About 212 million people are infected with malaria each year

Mexico earthquake: Children killed at collapsed primary school

Image
At least 21 children and five adults died at a primary school which collapsed in Mexico City during Tuesday's quake, the government says. The shallow, 7.1 magnitude quake killed at least 225 people in total and caused major damage across states in the centre of the country. Desperate searches for survivors under the rubble are continuing. Hopes rose at the school when a girl was located alive and a delicate operation to rescue her is under way. Dozens of buildings collapsed across the country, including several churches where worshippers were killed. Families with young children could be seen sleeping outside their homes in the street in the capital overnight. The tremor struck shortly after many people had taken part in an earthquake drill, exactly 32 years after another quake killed thousands in the capital.  Mexico is prone to earthquakes and earlier this month an 8.1 magnitude tremor in the south left at least 90 people dead. What do we know about th

Mexico: Huge earthquake topples buildings, killing more than 200

Image
A strong earthquake has struck central Mexico, killing more than 200 people and toppling dozens of buildings in the capital, Mexico City. President Enrique Peña Nieto said more than 20 children had died and 30 were missing after a school collapsed. The 7.1 magnitude quake also caused major damage in neighbouring states. The tremor struck shortly after many people had taken part in an earthquake drill, exactly 32 years after a quake killed thousands in Mexico City. The country is prone to earthquakes and earlier this month an 8.1 magnitude tremor in the south left at least 90 people dead. What is the death toll across Mexico? The epicentre of the latest quake was near Atencingo in Puebla state, about 120km (75 miles) from Mexico City, with a depth of 51km, the US Geological Survey said. The prolonged tremor hit at 13:14 local time (18:14 GMT) and sent thousands of residents into the streets. An earlier death toll of nearly 250 was lowered to 216 by the country's national

Donald Trump set to Destroy North Korea

Image
US President Donald Trump has told the UN General Assembly that America would destroy North Korea if forced to defend itself or its allies. In his debut speech, he mocked North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-un, saying: "Rocket man is on a suicide mission." North Korea has tested nuclear bombs and missiles in defiance of the UN. The American leader also attacked Iran, saying it was a "corrupt dictatorship" which was intent on destabilising the Middle East. He called on the government in Tehran to cease supporting terrorism and again criticised the Obama-era deal over Iran's nuclear programme, which he called an embarrassment.

Lionel Messi, Argentina unthinkably in danger of missing the World Cup

Image
A World Cup is a celebration of the world's best footballers, but for many, if Argentina fail to qualify, the best of them all will not be there. Even when Lionel Messi briefly retired from international football after a third final defeat in as many years -- one against Germany in the World Cup and two against Chile in consecutive Copa Americas -- a World Cup without the five-time Ballon d'Or winner still seemed unimaginable. A country-wide campaign, which included support from Argentine president Mauricio Macri, Diego Maradona and the metro system in Buenos Aires, predictably convinced Messi to change his mind. How could he give up the opportunity to make amends for those final defeats by leading his country to success in Russia? Now, 12 months on, though, a World Cup without Messi is more imaginable than ever. And it's not completely his fault. "Leo, for me, was above everyone else on the pitch and if we can't take advantage of him it is worryin

Wayne Rooney drink-driving charge: Everton boss Ronald Koeman 'very disappointed'

Image
Everton manager Ronald Koeman is "very disappointed" by Wayne Rooney's drink-driving charge and says the player will be "dealt with internally". Rooney was arrested shortly after 02:00 BST on Friday after Cheshire Police stopped a black VW Beetle in Wilmslow. The ex-England captain was released on bail and is due to appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court later this month. The 31-year-old, who retired from the national team earlier in August, is England's all-time record goalscorer. His court hearing is set for 18 September - the day after Everton travel to Manchester United in the Premier League. The match would be Rooney's first return to Old Trafford since rejoining his boyhood club, who he left to move to United in 2002. "We have spoken on Tuesday and the chairman Bill Kenwright has spoken to him about his situation," Koeman said. "He will be dealt with internally at the appropriate time." 'Everton should p

Here are the Few tips for a better sleep

Image
Keep your bedroom dark, cool and well-ventilated, ideally between 68 and 69 degrees Fahrenheit Stay cool by wearing loose clothing to bed. Moisture-wicking sheets and clothing can help with cooling down following hot flashes Exercise regularly but preferably in the early to late afternoon Avoid food and heavy meals right before bedtime. This can help to avoid digestion difficulties that can interfere with sleep at night If you feel hungry, have some nuts, bananas and yogurt -- high in tryptophan Caffeine, alcohol and nicotine can make it difficult to fall or stay asleep Depending on how your body absorbs caffeine, it can be helpful to avoid caffeine in the late-afternoon/evening Avoid naps during the day, which can prevent you from sleeping well at night Limit bedroom noises as much as possible or use a "white noise" device such as a sound machine Limit outdoor light through the use of blackout curtains and avoid the use of electronic devices in the bedroom

Women in midlife aren't sleeping enough, study says

Image
Women going through midlife aren't getting enough sleep, according to a new government report. More than one in four middle-aged women reported experiencing difficulty falling and staying asleep four or more times during the week. More than one in three women reported getting fewer than seven hours of sleep per night, on average. Of those, perimenopausal women -- women who were no longer menstruating and on the verge of menopause -- were the least likely to sleep seven or more hours a night. This was followed closely by postmenopausal women. "I was surprised to learn that nearly one in two women (in the report) did not wake up feeling well rested four times or more in the past week," said Anjel Vahratian, author of the report and chief of data analysis for the National Center for Health Statistics. Sleep experts suggest that women within this age range should receive seven to nine hours per night on a regular basis. It can prevent the increased risk f
