Arsenal are eyeing a move for highly-rated Sunderland attacker Joel Asoro after stepping up their interest in the Swedish teenager this month

Asoro joined the Sunderland youth academy from Swedish outfit IF Bromma in 2015 and was promoted to the senior squad this season after impressing the clubs coaching staff. The 17-year-old made his Premier League debut with a late substitute appearance during the Black Cats 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough last month and has been named on the bench for their other two league games so far this season. It seems that Asoro’s potential has attracted interest from several clubs as the Mirror claim that Arsenal are chasing the talented attacker along with the likes of Newcastle United. The newspaper says that Arsene Wenger stepped-up his interest in the youngster after sending scouts to watch the starlet play for the Sweden Under-21′s during their 1-1 draw with Spain on Monday night.
